About Me

Chan Thar Nyein

Hello! I'm Chan Thar Nyein, a front-end specialist currently residing in Bangkok, Thailand. I hold a Bachelor of Technology (2018) and a Bachelor of Electronic Engineering (2020). Currently, I work at Digital Storemesh Co. LTD in the Thailand Science Park, focusing on innovative and user-friendly web experiences.

The Beginning of My Dream

While studying Electronic Engineering at university, my career path was unclear during my first three years. In my fourth year, I discovered a passion for programming and pursued it independently. Despite limited internet access in Myanmar, I dedicated an hour each day to learning and practicing coding, driven by patience and joy in the field.

Taking the First Step: My First Internship

In my final year of university, I chose an internship at an IT company in Mandalay, pursuing my dream of becoming a software developer. The two-month experience taught me the differences between academic study and real-world application, solidifying my passion for programming and desire to work in the field.

My First Junior Developer Role

After completing my graduation thesis, I secured a position as a junior developer at a young start-up company in Yangon. The role presented challenges and provided a wealth of experience, as I completed projects independently. These experiences built self-confidence and prepared me for future career moves.

Finding My Dream Amidst Adversity

After one and a half years as a junior developer, my life was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2021 military coup in Myanmar. Reduced income and safety concerns led me to return to Mandalay.

Despite these challenges, I never lost sight of my dream of becoming a software developer in Thailand. My ambition was fueled by my appreciation for Thai culture and rapid technological advancement. Upon returning to Mandalay, I set out to pursue this dream.

My First Freelance Experience with Thai Developers

I took on a freelance job working with Thai developers from Chiang Mai. Although the collaboration was brief, it provided invaluable experience in remote work and international collaboration, particularly with Thai professionals. This experience familiarized me with Thai culture and working styles.

Achieving My Dream

I achieved my dream of working as a software developer in Thailand when I secured an onsite job and received visa sponsorship to relocate. It was a proud milestone in my career — my first time working abroad and officially calling Thailand my second home.

After gaining valuable experience at Thailand Science Park, I’ve since moved on to a new opportunity, continuing to grow as a front-end developer in Bangkok. Each chapter has brought new challenges and learning experiences, and I remain as passionate as ever about building innovative, user-friendly web experiences while embracing the culture and community I admire.
